Cricket’s Crochet Book Sleeve Materials

This project is quick and easy and only requires a select few materials in addition to your scissors and darning needle.

Hooks

5mm (H-8) hook for the book sleeve

3.5mm (E-4) hook for the button latch

Yarn

For this project I recommend you use 1 ball of worsted weight cotton or 1 ball of lighter weight cotton that you can use 2 strands of at once. You can use of course any kind of yarn you readily have on hand but cotton is sturdy and will keep its shape better for holding your book.

Button

You will need 1 medium to large sized button to create the attachment for the sleeve. You can skip this step if you don’t have any buttons or you feel that your project looks good without the attachment at the top.

Finish Project Measurements

The finished project measurements will depend on the size of your book. Your beginning chain will be based off of the width at the base of your book so the project will end up only slightly larger than the book you intend to use it for.

Skill Level

I would recommend this pattern for an advanced beginner. As long as you are comfortable with some basic stitches and button sewing you will be good to go with this book sleeve project.
